“We needed a flooring system that answered all the usual practical considerations, but we also wanted it to contribute to the children’s learning experience. Tact provided a remarkably inexpensive solution that does the lot – and which makes the play area much more attractive and interesting as well as safer.”

“The replacement swimming pool surround needed to be hygienic and obviously have a non slip flooring surface, but I also wanted something attractive and colourful that would add to the pool environment. TactTiles offered me all this, plus really quick installation. When I learned about the floor tiles’ durability and their ease of maintenance, there really was no contest. I’m absolutely delighted.”

Frequently Asked Questions
The perforations give the surface maximum gripping power – the most versatile non slip flooring we know!
The perforations also allow for drainage in wet floor situations and they allow air flow underneath the floor removing dampness and allowing the substrate to dry out naturally.
Clients advise their daily cleaning regime reduces considerably.
Dry – sweep or vacuum the floor, then mop off any muddy marks as required.
Wet – hose or pressure wash, scrub by hand or mechanically. If drainage is poor then use a wet-vac to suck up any remaining water. Your floor and the subfloor will dry out naturally.
Deep Clean – very occasionally you may wish to uplift the floor tiles and clean underneath. TactTools make this job easy.
Only if you stop and look directly down through the textured perforations. As you walk into the room all you see is the beautiful TactTile surface designed to your own specification.
No, not normally necessary. Small areas can be screwed down, for example on steps and stairs.
They provide a textured non slip flooring surface which is comfortable to walk on and for toddlers to crawl around on. The surface of the floor tiles is easy to keep clean and does not harbour bacteria or algae. The tiles dry quickly and our leisure facilities customers tell us that they have noticed an improvement in foot health and hygiene.
No! The girls at Tact have boogied, sashayed and twirled on our TactTile warehouse floor in all their best shoes with no problems at all. The warehouse man was a bit surprised though!

Start at one corner of the area and work your way across. There are instructions in the box and a design plan will be provided if you have agreed a multicoloured layout design with Tact.

Edgetiles are little bevel edges which click onto the finished side of the floor tile. They remove any trip hazard if you are approaching the TactTiles floor from another level surface, meeting DDA regulations.
Edgetiles come in all the colours and often look good applied in a contrasting colour from the range. Safety Yellow Edgetiles are often used in commercial situations.
Edgetiles can only be fitted to an uncut tile. If you need to finish a cut or curved edge, then Flexible Edging is available. Contact us for details.
Yes within reason. The floor tiles can cope with a certain amount of unevenness and will eventually settle to the shape of the substrate. They can be laid over any firm surface including crushed stone powder as well as the more normal concrete, wood, ceramic tiles or paving slabs. They will unify a variety of substrates giving a whole new look to the area.
Like all floors, TactTiles need to expand as the temperature rises.
Our XL range – Piazza and Metro floor tiles have flexible connections which allow for this expansion. Buying is easy, just measure your area, use our calculator and buy on-line.
Our Standard range – Pedestrian, Premium, Marine and the Sports flooring all fit seamlessly together, therefore it is necessary to insert Expansiontiles into the floor to take up the movement. Expansiontiles are needed about every 10 tiles in each direction. A Tact advisor can help you to design your floor. Contact us for more details and pattern / design ideas.
Expansiontiles are used in our standard range of TactTiles to allow for thermal movement and prevent buckling. They are inserted in the floor about every 3m or 10 tiles. Expansiontiles can be matching or a contrasting colour and in commercial situations can be used to delineate walkways or storage areas.
