Anti-fatigue for Library staff is a very pertinent issue – library staff have to stand for long hours sorting and classifying books. The Southern Library Board in Armagh selected TactTiles Piazza from the internet. They purchased a trial area and were so delighted with the comfort, looks and ease of maintenance they promptly set about installing Piazza TactTiles throughout the library.
Mr Sam Berry, the Facilities Manager told Tact that they saved hundreds of hours by not having to remove any books from the shelves. The shelf units were simply picked up by special trolley wheeled over onto the newly laid TactTiles and when the next area of tiles was installed shelving, units were rolled back into place. "No fuss, no mess, no glues the installation went even faster and smoother than I had ever hoped"... said Mr Berry.
Libraries are under pressure to save money and TactTiles proved a great saving as well as becoming a real asset for Armagh library.
