Just out of the showers - with Pedestrian floor tiles
The changing rooms at Hoofers, a popular gym in Nottingham, each have a ‘wet’ area with shower, washbasin and toilets next to a carpeted dry area for changing in comfort. A new changing room floor was needed for the ‘wet’ area to replace the existing slippery ceramic tiles.
TactTiles Pedestrian floor tiles were laid in the wet areas during the day in both the women’s and men’s changing rooms by female and male fitters respectively. The work was carried out while the changing rooms were in use and was carefully managed so that customers were not inconvenienced.
Staff at Hoofers have found that the new flooring system has dramatically lessened slips and falls. Its excellent drainage also lessens the amount of water walked through into the dry area, preserving the carpets there and improving the comfort of customers.
