Products: Sports floors
Multi-Sport
The top of our range for sports hall and MUGA pitch sports surfacing. Tested to EN 14877
Description: this tile has a rounded network pattern which provides both grip and drainage. The tile is free draining and underneath the strong grid construction is cut away to allow the water to flow. This also has the benefit of giving extra spring to the floor. When fitted together, Multi-Sport sports flooring acts like a sprung floor, being easy on the back and joints as proven by the Swedish Chalmers Technical University. Multi-Sport tiles have a fine aggregate 'wear layer' which provides excellent grip and traction. This improves with use.
Multi-Sport tiles are UV stable and can be used out of doors in all weathers. Best performance is achieved using shoes soled with rubber.
Uses: for sports halls and outdoor games areas. Multi-Sport can be laid on any hard surface including - concrete, wooden flooring, vinyls, ceramic tiles, paving and tarmac. Multi-Sport can also be used for sporting events, laid on grass or a temporary timber surface.
Cleaning and maintenance: Multi-Sport tiles can be cleaned by scrubbing (using a rotawash cylinder type machine or by damp moping. Indoors the floor can be vacuumed to remove dust which will be held below the surface. Outdoors, power washing or scrubbing using a street cleaner is suggested annually. The amount of cleaning depends upon proximity to trees and the amount of use. If a court lies idle for some time, clean before using again.
Repairs: if damage does occur, tiles can be removed from the floor and replaced using a Tile Lifter Tool. Sections of floor can also be undone using a Multi-Unzip Tool.
Colours: the most popular colours are Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue and Silver Grey. Subject to minimum order quantity, tiles can be manufactured in a corporate colour (only practical for a large sports floor).
Size: tiles measure 301 x 301 x 14.5mm; Expansiontiles measure 300 x 75mm, Sport Expansiontiles measure 150 x 77m.
Acessories: Multi-Sport tiles fit seamlessly together. To allow for thermal movement, Expansiontiles need to be inserted approximately every 3m in each direction. For heavy duty use (including rollerblading) Tact recommend Sport Expansiontiles which are a denser construction. The placing of the Expansiontiles depends upon the likely change in termperature of the floor. Thus an outdoor court will require a greater density of Expansiontiles than an indoor sports hall floor where there are no windows. Naturally this can effect the square metre price of the installation.
Court Markings: Multi-Sport tiles can be marked up as required using a special ink supplied by Tact. Normal floor paints will not adhere to polypropylene.
Installation: Multi-Sport floors are usually installed by Tact including full court makings, but we can provide instructions for a DIY installation.
Tact will also lay and mark up sports floors to be shipped and re-assembled abroad.
